WIKE ADDRESSES RUMORS ON HIS HEALTH

Rumours circulated (via Sahara Reporters and social media) that FCT Minister Nyesom Wike travelled to the UK for medical reasons, including a claim that he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. 

On September 18, 2025, Wike publicly addressed these claims. 

He said that his trip was to “take time out and relax,” not for any health emergency. 

He also emphasised that each time he travels, he works — except this time he chose to go without files, implying he wanted rest. 

Wike criticized the rumours: saying he didn't collapse, nor was he hospitalized in the UK; the rumors of heart failure were false.
